Re-introducing Axia Women!
Hi, we’re Axia Women! With lots of new followers joining us, we wanted to reintroduce ourselves and what we do.
Since our beginning seven years ago, Axia has become a meaningful online voice for Orthodox women – providing support, offering resources, and giving a space for women to be seen and to be heard.
We have grown significantly over the past two years, now reaching over three thousand women each week through our Substack and social media. You’ve told us you turn to the organization to find something beautiful, powerful, and deeply relevant to your lives as Orthodox Christians.
We offer an invitation to grow together as Orthodox women.
We’ve heard from some of you why Axia is important:
“I used to think I needed to be a certain way to be a proper Orthodox woman—creating the ‘right’ kind of Orthodox household and perfectly bringing the church home. It was almost like being a new convert, trying to be perfect in every sense. Encountering Axia and reading the WOW stories showed me it doesn’t have to look just one way. Orthodoxy is my lived experience, and Axia confirmed what I’d always sensed — that living my faith is simply the way I actually live, not an impossible ideal.”
“I love the Orthodox Church, I love Orthodox liturgy. Precisely because I do, I have no interest in tearing it down. Ideally, Axia should be a place where women can feel more confident in the Orthodox Church, more seen there. I don’t want to take that away; I want it strengthened.”
